Wyreena Playspace was designed following extensive community consultation to find out what children and families would like to see included in the area.
The Playspace has been designed for children aged 12 and under and has natural elements, artistic and creative spaces as well as some traditional playground structures. The public art pieces were designed by artist James Cattell and the interactive music objects were created by sound sculpter, Herbert Jercher.
Surrounding the Playspace are park benches and tables and there is daily access to a Public toilet. The Playspace is located alongside Conservatory Cafe.
The Playspace was funded by Council ($160,000) and the Victorian Government ($100,000).
Wyreena Community Arts Centre is located at 13-23 Hull Road, Croydon. For more information contact Wyreena on 9294 5590.
