Realm

Realm is a state-of-the-art facility that leads the creative, educational and prosperous development of Maroondah and Melbourne's East region. Located on Maroondah Highway as the centrepiece of the new Ringwood Town Square precinct, Realm interacts with open air gathering spaces, cafés and retail shops, and includes our dynamic exhibition, performance and interactive arts spaces.

The curated ArtSpace at Realm features dynamic contemporary exhibitions by leading practice artists as well as a series of interactive Arts Incubators and performing arts. The venue hosts a range of events, performances, workshops and installation programs to engage and delight community members and visitors to the municipality. In addition to ArtSpace, the Art Wall, Arts Incubators and Collectors Cabinets also showcase dynamic, contemporary arts experiences.

Maroondah Access Gallery

The Maroondah Access Gallery at Maroondah Federation Estate is an outstanding venue with strong links to the local community and to the region’s dynamic arts scene. The exhibitions and presentation program at the Access Gallery encompasses a broad range of contemporary and traditional visual arts practices and also encourages performance and multi-media artworks.

Wyreena

Wyreena Community Arts Centre is set in a classic English Tudor–style building on four acres of lawns and gardens including an adventure playground. The tranquil setting provides an abundance of artistic, social and cultural interest points including the Conservatory Cafe and The Arts Lounge where visitors can enjoy and purchase quality arts and crafts by local artists.

Each term, a range of short and ongoing courses are offered in the creative arts, and beginners and the more experienced are always catered for. Courses include painting and drawing, pottery, sculpture, mosaics, relaxation classes and much more. After school and school holiday programs are also offered for children.

Public Art

Public art has been consistently identified by the community as a priority for a culturally rich and vibrant Maroondah. Maroondah 2040 vision clearly documents the desire of the Maroondah community for greater activation of public spaces and for the everyday experience of art, including public art.

Council has commissioned a range of new artworks in response to these aspirations including Stacked Houses by James Voller located at Realm. Together with the Public Art Policy adopted by Council in 2015, these exciting and contemporary new works demonstrate Council’s commitment to providing public spaces that are sure to delight and surprise.

Karralyka

Karralyka is the premier theatre and function centre in Maroondah, an architecturally award-winning building, designed by Harry Seidler (with modifications by other architects) which offers outstanding facilities and services for live theatre, corporate events, social functions, wedding receptions, conventions and exhibitions.
