Big Dance Maroondah - Teach the Teacher Workshop

Wednesday, 21 November 2018 - 1pm to 4pm

We want you to be the leaders of your group, plan this into your curriculum, your sports program, community events calendar and teach your students/group/team/community members the Big Dance for Term 1 2019.

The Big Dance will be performed on 5 May 2019 — so let’s place Maroondah City on the global Big Dance map!

The Big Dance is choreographed by acclaimed choreographers Frances Rings and Craig Bary, with original music by Huey Benjamin. This beautiful choreography has elements of Indigenous contemporary dance, and carries the theme of unity.

During the Big Dance workshop, you will:

  • learn the Big Dance, along with ways to modify the choreography to suit all abilities
  • learn teaching guides and notes to include Big Dance as part of your teaching/coaching/community engagement plan
  • receive a professional learning session with Ausdance Victoria’s Director of Education and Lifelong Learning, Dr Katrina Rank.
